Happy St. Patrick’s Day – here’s a crochet pin to wear

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

St. Patrick’s Day is a big day, here in Ireland and for the occasion I made a little crochet shamrock pin to wear on the day.

Crochet Shamrock Pin

If you want to make one, here’s how …..

I used Sidar Cotton DK and & 4mm Hook ( UK Terms)

Work a magic ring and chain 4 (counts as dtr), 3dtr into the ring, chain 2, dc into the ring. Repeat 2 more times – total of 3 shamrock petals. Continue on to make the stem
Stem: Chain 5, 1dc into 2nd chain from hook, 3 dc in the next 3 chains & join into ring

Sew on your pin to the back and pin to your coat.

We are planning on taking the kids and heading to see one of the local parades.  We have not done this in a long time and the kids are looking forward to it.

Have you any connections to Ireland? Are you going to be celebrating it?

Till next time !

Cute little pattern maura! No Irish connections here, but there is usually a little bit of celebrating here in Australia, usually in the way of green food in the school canteen! Happy St Patrick’s Day to you, hope you have a great time at the parades xx

This is so cute. You are tempting me to crochet again…Instead of craft for the baby girl’s first birthday party. And I am not even Irish! Have a great St Paddy’s day.
